Oct 8—An appreciation service for Elder Joseph C. Brown, Sr., the elder of the Fayetteville District will be in the New Fellowship Hall at 4:00 pm.
Oct 10—The Cancer Support Group meeting will be held in the New Sanctuary classroom from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are requesting everyone wear pink on next Sunday, October 8th.
Oct 11—The WIDU Together as One Unity Service will be held here at Simon Temple at 7:00 pm as 24 other Unity Services will be happening simultaneously in North and South Caroilna celebrating the 2017 WIDU Anniversary.
Oct 13—Simon Temple members will be serving breakfast to the homeless at Operation Inasmuch, 531 Hillsboro Street, Fayetteville, NC; from 7 am – 9 am. Oct 15—Pastor Thompson will be preaching in Raleigh, NC at Grace AME Zion Church at 3:00 pm. We need choir members and ushers to accompany Pastor. Sign up online or on one of the electronic terminals. The bus will leave at 1:30 pm.
Oct 22—We will celebrate Pastor Brian R. Thompson, Sr. and Rev. Felica R. Thompson for 16 years of faithful service at our 8:30 am and 11:00 am services. All members are asked to contribute $20.00 or more towards our Appreciation Day. Zacardi Cortez will be our special guest.
Oct 27 & 28—Simon Temple Youth ages 12 – 18 are you ready to go hard? If you are, A Night at The Temple – Youth Explosion Lock-in 2017 is the place to be. Stepping, Rapping, Dancing, Real Talk, Movie, Games, Food, Lip Sync Contest, Prizes and much more!! A life changing experience. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 27 and we will not leave until Oct. 28 @ 10:00 a.m. Sponsored by Simon Temple Youth Department and Let’s Make It Happen Together.
Oct 28—The Darkness to Light Abuse Prevention Training required for all persons that work with the children of Simon Temple, but open to all members, will be held at 10:00am. This training is sponsored by WOE Department and presented by the Cumberland County Child Advocacy Center. Sign up online or on one of the electronic terminals.
Oct 31—The Simon Temple Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat will be held from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Parents bring your children out for an exciting time filled with a puppet show, games, face painting and all the candy they can eat. If you would like to serve as a ministry partner or lend your trunk full of treats, please sign up online or on one of the electronic terminals. We will also receive candy donations in the church office from October 15th-30th. Ministry Partners will have a background check.
Nov 1—Pastor Thompson will be preaching at Hood Memorial AME Zion Church, 2801 Rosehill Road, Fayetteville, NC 28302 at 3:00 pm. We encourage everyone to attend in support of our Pastor and we need our ushers and choir members to support Pastor as well, as you always do. Your support is greatly appreciated!
We now have available individual tickets for the “Daddy’s Boys” stage play, the Women’s Empowerment Luncheon, Carolina’s Best, the Prayer Breakfast, Traditional Gospel night and the Anniversary Concert. You may purchase your tickets in the vestibule and the bookstore after both services or in the bookstore during the week, while supplies last.
